"Born in Canada, I spent most of my childhood in Singapore where I trained under Singaporean artists Kam Kee Yong, Liu Kang and Sons, as well as at the Nanyang Institute of Fine Arts. I have also studied Chinese calligraphy under my father, Dr. Wayne Wai Ying Lau. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Arts in Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Because of my background, I design with a cross-cultural favor that emphasizes the bridging of the east and west. I am also an avid painter and musician, having participated in local exhibitions, shows and performances. My paintings and music are also a combination of eastern and western elements."
